Neta Shani Sensory Balancing Practitioner
Growing up with a brother who suffered from a genetic disease, I always knew I would want to help others. I followed my heart and studied Chinese Medicine. During school I fell in love with the power of touch and completed a 3 year Shiatsu program as well. I joined the staff as a TA in both Acupuncture and Shiatsu programs.
My passion has always been working with kids so it was only natural for me to continue training for another year to specialize in Acupuncture for pediatrics.
My own kids have taught me a lesson in emotional “sensitivities” and “un-proportional” responses to stress. While working on their “sensitivities” I learned a lot about Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD). I realized that kids who seemed to “overreact” to smells, sounds, emotional situations, etc, are, in fact, not overreacting at all. These kids react according to how their brain processes information that is collected by their sensory system. Many of these kids came to my clinic for food sensitivities, skin issues, sleep, vocal tics, muscular tics, bed wetting, and other challenges. I always offered to diagnose their sensory issues as well. I’ve noticed that many of the kids were not formally diagnosed with SPD and I made their parents aware of it so they could better address it.
In addition to pediatrics, and because many of the moms who came to my clinic with their little ones were expecting another baby, I decided to help them as well, and I took a hospital training in Acupuncture for Prenatal, Postpartum and for Fertility.
Today I feel very lucky to help moms and their children through different stages of their life.

“I came here several times late in my pregnancy. I had never had acupuncture before and Neta made me feel perfectly comfortable with everything and made sure to explain what she was doing. It was very surprising to me how much this helped me. I was able to walk much easier (and faster LOL.) After my son was born, she then showed me different spots to massage him.”

“Neta is a thorough, knowledgable, highly intelligent and professional health-care provider, and is most importantly (in my opinion) an empathetic, accepting, calm, sweet and supportive human being – all of which are highly sought out qualities in someone taking care of you in situations of pain management, labor support and other conditions leading you to seek help from an acupuncturist. She is very gentle in her work and devotes great care to her patients. She helped me through the last two weeks of my pregnancy with natural labor support and a few weeks after labor helped me by sharing her vast knowledge in shiatsu and massage techniques to relieve some of my newborn’s unwanted (but highly common) symptoms – gas, congestion, relaxation support etc.
I recommend Neta to anyone seeking a very special healer, acupuncturist and alternative medicine specialist.”

“My experience with Neta is both personal and professional. I had several sessions with Neta in the past few months after suffering tremendously from back pain. Neta is so calm and knowledgeable, she treats with care and her touch is sensitive and relaxing.
As a lactation consultant, I also refer babies (and mothers) to Neta to help with tight jaws, colic pain or latch issues surrounding the birth. I see great results with the babies she’s worked with and parents are pleased with the improvement. Whether you are pregnant, having a back pain or if your baby needs some bodywork, I highly recommend contacting Neta!”

“I came to Neta for hormonal issues. I’ve had severe PMS after my period came back post second child. I was actually in the midst of said PMS when I saw Neta a few weeks ago. I felt that the extreme agitation and lack of patient I was experiencing dissipated after that first visit. During my appointment I felt completely heard, and very much taken care of. I’ve been to other acupuncturists, and the unique thing about Neta is that she uses needle-less acupuncture first, where you see an immediate improvement and then she puts the needles in to let them do further magic. It feels like you’re getting much more then a straight forward acupuncture treatment. No question – go to Neta!”

“Neta Shani is amazing! I can’t thank her enough. My baby was extremely gassy and colicky, nights were a nightmare and for 6 months I hadn’t slept more than 2 hours straight. We finally went to see Neta and after two visits I can’t believe it. My baby never had gas pain or colic again. I had my first 4 hours of sleep in 6 months! He still wakes up for feedings, but I’m so happy that the pain is gone! If you need help with your baby don’t hesitate and wait 6 months like I did, just go there, she is incredible.
Oh! She also helped my older daughter with her ear infection.”

“I met Neta over 10 years ago! She is a wonderful person and acupuncturist and I love her Shiatzu as well.
She first treated my three kids but now I receive treatment as well. Every time my kids or I get sick I don’t go to the doctor I just call Neta!! She is wonderful”
